Businesses with Heart

So I've started doing some charity work for the American Heart Association, a organization I feel passionately about as I don't feel enough American's are educating themselves on the damage they are doing to their health with "everyday" activities like smoking and not getting regular exercise. I'm a member of the auction committee for their annual Heart Ball and recently started to reach out to local businesses to solicit donations for the silent auction.

Some places I have approached have respectfully declined, which is completely understandable given our current economic climate and the demand they surely see for donations, especially in this area.

Others though, have been very generous and I wanted to use my tiny voice in to the blogosphere to recognize the local businesses that have given so far:

Mon Ami Gabi - The GM emailed me back within minutes of my sending the request and his assistant was extremely eager to help. They couldn't have made it easier for me, plus we get a great donation for the auction!

Divino - This small local tapas place was excited to help out as well. And I think it means a lot when a local business can find it in their budget.

Eggspectations
- Another quick response, and a personal touch! I mentioned in my request that I had been wanting to try their chocolate cake. When I stopped by to pick up their donation, they gave me a piece of cake! What a nice touch...

If you're looking to go out locally, don't forget these great options who not only offer amazing food, but are willing to give back too.
